About Wizardry

Wizardry's Cauldron Guy Developed by Andrew 'Werdna' Greenberg and Robert 'Trebor' Woodhead, Wizardry I: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was a first person RPG for the Apple ][, it more or less started it all. It was released by Sir-Tech in 1981 and became an instant hit. It created an enviroment where character delveopment became an almost personal thing. The death of a character was emotionally devastating.

I have played and enjoyed this series first on the Apple ][, then the IBM and now on the Super Nintendo. I have completed and mapped each of the following:
  • Wizardry I: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord
  • Wizardry II: Knight of Diamonds
  • Wizardry III: Legacy of Llylgamyn
  • Wizardry IV: Return of Werdna
  • Wizardry V: Heart of Maelstrom
  • Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge
  • Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant
  • Wizardry VIII:
  • Wizardry: Nemesis the Wizardry Adventure

My personal favorite was Wizardry IV: Return of Werdna, it took a slightly different path than the others, in that you get to play the bad guy. Beaten and imprisoned, you had to fight and join forces with evil to escape and prove your worth. Too bad this was never ported to the Super Nintendo (SNES), and also too bad Sir-Tech didn't include this in their Trilogy packages for the PC.

IMPO - Sir-Tech ported some of their games to the Nintendo enviroment, so why do they insist on selling boot only playable for the PC.
IMPO - They should re-release ALL Wizardry's for the Windows 95/98 enviroment, or release All Wizardry's on one SNES or N64 cartridge, on one cartridge the ability to watch your character live and grow from one game to the next as originally intended, for a whole new generation to enjoy.

Annoucement
Well it happened - A mass release of Wizardry for a platform all can play Ultimate Wizardry Archives - Its Here!!!
