Theme Party Design Contest

Entries must include the following information so voters can make determinations:
|
|
-
Theme Party Name
-
Description of Theme
-
Character list including race, class, and skill set choices and how these
relate to the chosen Theme.
-
Any limitations set upon characters to keep them "in theme". What skills
can they use/not use (including magical spell limitations.) What restrictions/requirements
related to items (armor, weapons, misc. items) there might be.
-
Goals for the party: What they will ultimately achieve. What they can do
or not do in their interaction with the NPCs and RPCs of Dominus.
|
|
Rules
|
|
1) Game difficulty setting: No restrictions. Any mode you wish to play
on is acceptable.
2) Reloading: Reloading is allowed since some themes may require the
gathering of unique or hard to obtain items.
3) No game editors allowed. Although it may be hard for voters to determine
if one was used we are relying on player honesty here and hope you honor
this restriction.
4) Theme must be your own, no asking for help to come up with or the
design of characters in the chosen Theme since creativity is a hefty part
of the judging criteria. |
|
Optional

Create a thread on the IGN
Spoiler Board titled Theme Party Progress: "Party Name" chronicling
the party's progress. A link on the download page will be made to the post
for any who wish to view it. To date stories have been very interesting
and provide insight into the parties and their development. |

Judging Criteria
|
|
-
1) Creativity 40% of overall score. (scale 1-10)
-
a) How unique is the theme?
-
b) How well suited are the races, professions, and gender choices for the
theme?
-
c) How well do the skills (including magical spell choices) fit the Theme?
-
d) Are the goals/limitations in keeping with the Theme?
-
e) How well suited to the Theme is the ultimate goal set forth by the player.
|
|
-
2) Development 40% of overall score. (scale of 1-10)
-
a) How well the skills were developed according to the theme, did the player
meet or limit the skills according to the goals/limitations. (Including
magical spells.)
-
b) How well the items gathered fit the theme. (No Captain Caveman wielding
an Omnigun.) Did the player stay within the limitations or gather unique
items befitting the Theme?
-
c) Was the ultimate goal achieved? Did the player honor their initial interaction
limits with NPCs and RPCs. (Example: One Theme party designated that they
are benevolent and would not harm "ANY" NPCs, are all the NPCs still alive?)
|
|
-
3) Difficulty 20% of overall score. (1-10) (This does not mean the
game difficulty level played at and that should not be a consideration
at this time.)
-
a) How far in the game the player had to go to complete their theme.
-
b) How difficult it would be to obtain the unique and rare items gathered,
provided the items fit the theme. No brownie points for good ole Captain
Cavey slinging a *Light* *Sword*.
-
C) Ponder how difficult it might be to achieve the goal with the limitations
set forth. (Example: Some one Ascending while using only daggers and leather
armor, with no magical protections would be extremely impressive and VERY
hard to achieve.)

All completed games can be emailed to me when the person feels the
goals of their Theme have been met. I will then post them on this website
where they will be made available for download. The entry post will be
posted on an individual web page linked to from below with the save game
download and converted to a doc file (openable with WordPad) and included
in the zip file with the save game for voters to download.
Once all votes are in (by Nov 16th or 17th) I will post the final scores
here and on the individual web pages with any comments received (providing
comments are not vulgar, those will be ignored). Downloads will be removed
from the pages but the pages will remain for some time. |

Good luck to all entrants! |

The following games are not up for judging at the players request and
were submitted to me as a courtesy at my request. They had participated
in the Theme Party Design Contest just for the fun of it. The download
of the final saves are below for anyone who wishes to take a peek. Also
a link to the party progress report when avaiable. Some wonderful story
tellers out there. |
