This dual function gadget is an engineering masterpiece, combining
gadgetry science and wizardry logic in a truly functional and mysterious
blend.
When the Small Mirror is combined with electrodes and an anchor, the Static Mirror is the result. When the Static Mirror is 'Used', its reflective surface is fixed (or anchored) with an image of the wielder's location. This in effect, emulates the spellcaster's Set Portal spell. Activating the Static Mirror to return to the "anchored" location is a bit tricky. You will first need to 'Merge' a board with the Static Mirror. This can only be done with a Static Mirror in an 'anchored' state. The merged board becomes a part of the Static Mirror's image of it's anchored location. The second step is to look in the mirror and see what you saw. You then take the saw and cut the board in half. Next, you put the two halves back together to make a whole (hole). The hole will now appear within the image of the Static Mirror. By 'Using' the mirror in this state, the gadgeteer (and party) are able to worm their way through the hole, thus returning to the original anchored location. This in effect reproduces the Return To Portal spell. Note: Each time a Board is merged with the Static Mirror, your available stock is reduced by one. |
