The chest can be taken along and filled with other items. Because it is magically enhanced, everything inside the chest weighs nothing. This dramatically increases the carrying capacity of your team. It can also be set down somewhere BEFORE you open a chest trapped with Heatwave or some other destructive spell, thus protecting your potions and scrolls from destruction. The chest can also be stolen (50% chance) while you are destracted by the trapped chest, or if you leave the chest out of sight. If you hurry you can catch the thieves and recover the chest!
