Unused Items used in the Quest:Trynnie Trident (Trident of the Fathers)Trynnie Cloak (Cloaking Cape) |
This quest begins after saving the two Trynnie in the Pagoda Archives
from the Rapax. One of these Trynnie, Rimi (Pronounced Ree-Mee),
thanks you for your help and shares his story.
Many years ago, there was a raid on Trynton by the Rapax army in one of their many attempts at world domination. During this battle, many Trynnie warriors were killed to stop the Rapax from pushing too far into Trynton. Rocks, throwing spears and arrows rained down from the boughs of Trynton for many days and nights as the Rapax army marched up its branches in their single-minded drive to wipe out every last Trynnie. By and large, the Rapax army was thwarted at the lowest boughs of Trynton by the efforts of a large number of Trynnie Champions, Hunters, Spearmen and Patrol. However, one group of Rapax ended up making its way through the blockade with an incredible amount of stealth to the plunder the Trynnie amassed, and those that could not fight on the frontlines. Rimi, a Trynnie Patrol at the time, was suddenly called from the thick of battle by a message from Shaman Das: there was a group of Rapax assassins stalking the inside of the city where the children, infirm and elderly of the Trynnie lay quivering in fear. And since Rimi and his band of Trynnie were the closest to the middle of the city, and the Champions and Hunters were otherwise engaged at the gates of Trynton, Rimi charged back towards the center of the city to save those in danger. What greeted Rimi and his party was the grisly scene of death. Mothers and their children, old and wise Trynnie, those with wounds too great to battle... all were slaughtered in this part of the city. And among their butchered bodies stood the figures of 3 Rapax Samurai, blood dripping down their spears and their armor, and the lust for murder in their eyes. To Rimi's horror, his wife and two daughters were among them, his wife still clutching their two children to her lifeless body. For you see, these particular Rapax had seen their greatest comrades fall in battle not moments before, and sought only to teach the Trynnie a lesson in pain and loss. Rimi and his patrol, shocked and teetering on nausea, began at once to attack the squad of Rapax in a Trynnie rage never before seen on the planet Dominus. Fireballs sizzled, Energy Blasts crackled, Magic Missiles whished through the air... and Rimi's band launched themselves ever forward towards their most hated of enemies. The Rapax Samurai, famous for their arrogance in using spells and never their weapons during a fight, were unprepared for the furious Trynnie attack. Two of the three were impaled upon cold, Trynnie steel before they could even raise their lances. The final Samurai was not so unprepared, and while simultaneously shouting out a Return to Portal spell, beheaded two of the Patrol as he parried many thrusts simultaneously. The Samurai disappeared. Rimi ends his story here, saying he has enlisted the help of the most powerful of Trynnie magic to create two items necessary to hunt down this Rapax Samurai: the incredibly quick and magical Trynnie Trident, and the illusory Trynnie Cloak. While the Trident offered the incredible speed of an assassin's blade with little of the weight, the Cloak carried with it the power to become completely invisible, at the sake of not being able to attack the enemy. Your party now has the option of assisting this brave Trynnie in his quest for revenge. The plan is simple: Rimi will sneak into Rapax castle using the Cloak's power and killing where he needs to by backstabbing the Trident, searching for he who murdered his family. Your party's job is to provide distraction until Rimi can find his mark. If you find the mark before he does, you are to get word to him by casting a spell outside the castle, where you will meet up and exchange information. If your party refuses, Rimi thanks you for your help saving him from this band of Rapax, disappears, and you never see him again. If you accept, Rimi disappears anyway. However, upon entering Rapax Rift, there are fewer than normal Rapax patrolling the area. Along the way to the castle, you find the bodies of Rapax with puncture wounds in their backs, necks and heads. As you get closer and closer to the castle, the bodies increase in number. Once you get inside the castle, however, the bodies stop appearing and the Castle is full of Rapax, living, breathing and stalking the insides of the Castle. Your party hears a Trynnie's scream of pain, but you cannot run to investigate because practically the entire population of the castle attacks you. Minutes, maybe hours pass by as you empty the castle of its population and make it safe to wander. Your party runs in the direction of the howl to the Rapax messhall... past the guards there... past the hallway... and into the kitchen. Hours after you hear the scream, you find the hanging, lifeless, skinned body of Rimi, parts of his body laying about, waiting for preparation into a Rapax meal before your party appeared to challenge the castle. When clicking on Rimi's body, the journal is updated about his death and the party receives Rimi's necklace, a quest item. However, a new entry appears... to find and slay the Rapax Samurai who killed Rimi's family. And your party does just that. Upstairs in the Rapax Castle is a new room, a training room, where a lone Rapax Samurai and several dozen assorted Rapax are striking dummies, casting spells and generally honing their skills, and your party enters. Upon entering, the Rapax Samurai takes notice of the necklace you have and moves to engage your party, the entire contents of the training center moving to attack you. (Note, if you have not found Rimi's body yet, the Rapax will remain neutral and not attack you, instead yelling for you to get out. They will be unattackable, like Bela, until you get the necklace from Rimi). After the battle with the 50 or so Rapax and the Rapax Samurai (with added stats, damage, level, spells, skills and attacks on him, of course!), the ghost of a familiar Trynnie appears, three female Trynnie in tow. It's Rimi, who has finally found peace with his family on the other side. Rimi thanks you profusely in that wonderful little Trynnie voice, and requests that you not let revenge take you as completely as it did him, and remember that only love is real. His last words upon fading away with his family, as the Trident and Cloak appear where he once stood... "Use these only if you need them, brave warriors. Use them only to protect others." |
