Mage
|
Legendary for their intense, deadly magic, Mages devote their life's
work to manipulating the elements for harm and good (but mostly harm).
Because they concentrate on only one spellbook, Mages learn Mage spells
quicker than any other profession in Wizardry 8. They have poor hit points
and are limited in the armor and weapons they can use. However, their powerful
spellcasting makes them ideal for any party. A lifetime of exposure to
magic has made Mages somewhat resistant to its effects. |

A Mage's magical power is truly a force to be reckoned with. Early
in the game they will often lead the party in number of kills due to the
powerful area effect spells available to them. Once the enemies grow more
powerful and become more resistent to magical attacks a Mage can still
cause severe damage to opponents weakening them before they are engaged
in close combat. The expert skill of Powercast is the Mage's best friend. |
