A Priest is the healer and protector of the party. The Priest has few
attack spells, but those spells are quite powerful either heavily damaging
the enemy or killing them immediately. Needless to say the Priest can be
a major force in dealing with the many undead creatures in the game.
Their ability to dispel undead does rely heavily on their level of experience
but this ability can paralyze and destroy undead creatures.
Though one may not think Intelligence a primary concern for the Priest,
in truth it should be. The expert skill of Powercast only comes with maximum
intellect. Powercast allows for the protective spells cast by the Priest
to remain in effect longer. It increases their damage output and can make
their spells causing immediate death more effective.
Piety is another attribute one might wish to concentrate on. It has a three-fold
benefit. Not only does it help the Divinity and realm skills to increase
quickly, it provides more spell points, and the expert skill of Iron Will
once maximized.
Other considerations for attribute development might be Speed. In many
battles it will be desirable for the Priest to move quickly to protect
their comrades. Although not the most impressive sight on a battlefield,
a Priest can be developed to engage in close combat by concentrating on
Strength and Dexterity. |
