Faerie Development

The Faerie has the highest Intelligence of all the races. It's Speed is equaled only by one other race. Lacking in Strength, Vitality, and Piety one might think the Faerie would only do well in magical professions, and of these only those that have no requirements of the Piety attribute. The ability of the Faerie to regenerate their magical power twice as quickly as any other race reinforces the idea of at least employing them in some magical capacity. If chosen for the role of Alchemist or Mage they can achieve Powercast and Snakespeed earlier than any other race.

The Faerie has very impressive resistance bonuses to four of the six magical realms. With their equippable item weight restriction the Faerie will not make use of many of the weapons and armor available in the game. 

Should our delicate little flutterby be coddled and hovered over by the party? Yeah, right, just try it with a Faerie Ninja and see how quickly you get an attitude adjustment!

A common misconception about the Faerie is that they should not be employed in melee heavy professions, with the Ninja of course being the one exception due to the most desirable of items, the Cane of Corpus

A Faerie actually has some advantages when employed in roles where physical combat is a way of life that may not have occurred to you. You don't have to develop their Intelligence and Senses might due with 5 additional points but it isn't really necessary in order for their close and ranged combat skills to improve quickly enough so as to spare the use of skill points at levels ups. 

If chosen for hybrid roles they are already intelligent enough and need not work the attribute that much. Or work it and gain powercast quicker than most races chosen to hybrid professions.

In addition to their Armor Class bonus they are very small creatures and this game seems to give them an additional bonus making them harder to hit. Ever notice just how often a Faerie gets hit? Not often no matter what profession they are in. 

Their excellent Speed and good Dexterity give them a great attack rating and if these attributes are developed the Faerie will pretty much slice and dice everything in sight, while everything in sight is still trying to figure out who's doing it!

So let's not coddle our deadly little comrade and instead give them an opportunity to amaze even the most skeptical among us.
