The Dracon has good strength, vitality, and dexterity making them obvious
choices for professions that rely heavily on these attributes. The low
Intelligence, Piety, and Senses suggest they would be poor choices for
professions relying on those attributes. Looks can be deceiving.
Dracons would make good choices for professions that are considered
"vulnerable" because of their good vitality. If a spell casting profession
were able to use a shield the Dracon will build shield skill faster than
a more intelligent but weaker and less dexterous race. In this way they
could help alleviate party formation issues when these profession are used.
Obviously they will achieve expert skills of Powerstrike and Ironskin
quite quickly if assigned the profession of Fighter. However their low
Intelligence and Senses will hold them back in close and ranged combat
skills. Four ways to cope would be using items to increase these attributes;
assign all skill points at creation and level up to the skills; include
someone casting the Superman spell (or use potions) during combat; or assign
creation attribute points to take the attributes to 50. They will increase
at a decent rate at this mid point value.
Keep in mind they tend to lack a bit in resistance to the Divine and
Mental realms. When planning a party including a Dracon one should be sure
someone is capable of curing the insane and turncoat condition. Though
the attributes might suggest otherwise employing them as a Mage or Psionic
will eliminate their resistance problems. Developing Piety to gain Iron
Will, though quite costly, will also eliminate their weakness. |
