Kill a Dragon
In order to proceed along the path of the Kill a Dragon Quest. Snorri the
Fist tells you to prove yourselves as warriors by finding and completing
this "Training Hall." Basically all you have to do is get in and get out
through front door.

|
|
|
Once you manage to find your
way into this place you'll notice you are very high up in the building and
there aren't too many options available other than climbing down onto the
huge wheel (W) suspended over the pool in the central room of the Main level.
There's a weak spot in this rod the wheel is suspended from and the moment
you step onto the wheel down it goes.

The two ghouls in the room below ducked
into the room just north. Once they get underwater they are a pain to deal
with so its best to try and keep them in this room with the shallow pool
rather than allow them access to the northern room where they can fully submerge.

One of these huge pillars
in the entry room has a chest atop it. Simply climb the ladder to get to
it. The chest above the watery area is another story. Using the ropes and
beams climb to the top to gain access to it. Some of the beams push you off
and you do need to jump from rope to rope to make your ascent. It really
isn't too difficult and is good practice on maneuvering your party.

The Black Chest here is hidden inside
a crate. A pair of Lizard Orcs guard this room so prepare for battle. We
used curse spells and Dark Grasp scrolls on them to make them more manageable.
I think our party was a bit young to be nosing about in here but we managed
to get through.

Some of the strategies we used were
to jump up on whatever was handy and launch ranged attacks. Curse spells
on them, Bless & Faith spells on us, Dark Grasp Scrolls, and poison all
helped to some degree. We finally offloaded a bunch of runestones we had
be saving for a rainy day. Elemental, Flint, Fire, and Earth stones to name
a few. When we encountered Ghouls we used Turn Undead. Our Priest was the
only one of rank among us with one still at Fighter and another at Initiate
level.

|
On the Lower level, once you get the
Trellborgs to stop playing with the horses, use the one farthest south.
Use the lever and the horse rockets down the track to smash open the wall
to the east. There is a whole area back there. Some short tunnels filled
with ghouls and a couple of chests. This area does not show up on your map
even when you are in it.

|
|
|
Be sure to try the target range. If
you can score a bulls eye the rewards are nice. They are labeled on the
map as 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k. This is the number of gold pieces you are awarded
on a Bull's Eye. (k=1,000) Our Priest had the Everstrike Bow so we
didn't have much to worry about.

|
|
|
To leave simply smash the bar barricading
the door and walk on out... or run whichever the case may be.
