Good Bugs? No one has ever reported
any negative results when doing these except perhaps a lockup or shut down
resulting from multiple saves/restores.
Multiple Items - When looting
the body of an enemy occasionally you will get gold & an item and the
body remains. Many people will take advantage of this little bug on
higher level monsters, particularly dragons. Save your game while standing
by the body, click or use spacebar as you normally would, if the body disappears,
reload and try again. You can outfit the party & obtain a good
deal of gold using this little trick. |
Infinite Experience - Apparently
when you are on a hillside with monsters below you trying to scramble
up to get at you, once they die they remain standing. You can kill
these monsters over & over again gaining experience. 2 well known
areas are Erathia near the road to Bracada Desert with the bandits &
the zombies that generate in Deyja if you refuse to pay the necromancer tax. |
Unlimited Telekenisis Scrolls
- In the Millenium edition of all the MMs and in the Temple of the Moon
in Evenmorn, in the alcove where the telekenisis scrolls are, I appear to
be able to get unlimited scrolls. I just click with the mouse on the right
side of the cubby where you can kind of see where the block covering it was
and the cursor turns into a scroll. I put it in inventory and keep
clicking. Submitted by Chris G. |
Inconvenient Bugs. These
bugs will not halt the progress of your game but they can certainly be annoying
& cause a lot of confusion.
Autonotes - The autonotes
say that the grandmaster of identify item is in Avlee. Actually,
he is in the Tularean Forest. Found by
J J Cherlin. |
Quest O - Can occur after
returning to Castle Harmondale once the Dwarf King has fixed it, &
possibly other times as well. 3DO has said that this bug will not
affect game play in any way and can be ignored. They indicate that
this bug will be fixed in the upcoming patch. |
Fire Spikes - Apparently
the spikes goes off 1 real time minute after it is placed, no matter the
skill level of the caster. |
Halder's Remains - The
chest in the Maze in Nighon containing the "Remains" (Quest item) can only
be opened once - second time its full of cheap stuff instead. Solution:
grab the remains by mouse and close the chest still holding them if you
have no room in inventory. - Dmitri |
Portaits - The portraits
for the Paintings Quests will only spawn once, if you drop or loose one
for any reason then you will not be able to complete the quest. |
Arena - You cannot Save
Game in Arena. If you try to do it - you'll see "Game Saved" message, but
there will be no saved game with that name in the list later. (Not mentioned
in the manual) - Dmitri |
Dark Path Initiate Quest
- If you go out through the front door in Breeding Zone (Archibald's quest)
after finishing it - you fail! Solution: use the back exit from Breeding
Zone only! (this may just be an omitted requirement, not a bug) -
Dmitri
Archibald clearly states when giving this quest to leave
there any way you can. I placed this on this page only because you
can go back in and exit by the back door to complete the quest so it is not
a game stopper but it certainly is very frustrating to have to clear that
place out again! - Flame |
Mega Dragon Cave - One
of the Dragons in Dragon Cave on top of the mountain in Land of the Giants
(the Mega-Dragon Cave to be exact) is completely invisible, though appears
as a red dot on the map (and yellow dot after killed by bows/ranged attacks).
Even if you walk to its the exact body location on the map, you can't loot
the body. I tried clicking all around, and even on the ceiling, with no
luck! - Dmitri
Apparently this can be resolved. It appears the corridor
where this beast usually goes into phase with the wall is too narrow to support
the number of dragons rushing out to save their beloved leader. Kill off
the dragons out in the main cavern and only those visible in the hallway.
Leave homeboy alone and exit the cave back to the LOG map. Re-enter the
Cave and guess who?! Yep, he's visible again. Since creature hit points return
to full automatically once you leave a map, and yours don't, be sure to try
and lure "Houdini" out of the hallway and into the main cavern before before
skewering him. - Flame

Character Magic Use locking up
in battle - Sometimes when battle is impending, usually outdoors
when the enemy can be seen on the screen far away but not on the automap
in the upper right corner, my character in slot 4, farthest to the right,
cannot use spells. Clicking on the spell icon fails as miserably as using
"C" on keyboard. After entering battle, and after the figure in slot 4 takes
damage, the spell book will open. -
Steve Sutton
I had this happen on my game when the spell book refused
to open and the quick spell refused to go off, usually up on the snowy mountain
area of Tatalia while fighting the trolls. I never paid attention to
the details so I cannot say if this criteria was met. Many message
board posts also indicaticated this was happening to quite a few people.
I personally didn't stand around and wait for a troll to pound on us so I
can't verify that a certain character taking damage will resolve it for every
one. I would save the game, then exit the game, close it and reboot the
machine. Upon loading the save game everything worked normally.
Now this appeared to clear it up for everyone who tried it so I would advise
doing this any time the magic system refuses to function. -

Video Interface Bugs -
There are some places in the game where devoted mouse clickers will get
a rude shock. The video interface appears to be off by a wide margin
and it is necessary to use the spacebar, even then you may need to angle
the party around to get the desired result.
Walls of Mist - The three
pedestals with keyholes at the exit. Particularly the center one. |
The Alloyed Weapon Shop on the
Island by the Tidewater Caverns in Tatalia - You can use the mouse
pointer and the name will appear but when you click on it the message "Nothing
there" appears. |
Well by the Guilds in Harmondale
- Same result as the weapon shop above. This is a +2 permanent Accuracy
increase. |
